The Rock Pigeon Update

Once I prepared the frame of my stool, the next step was to upholster it.

The Materials
Top left: Calico
Bottom left: Rubberized hair/artificial horse hair
Top right: frame
Bottom Right: lintafelt

Method
1.I started by cutting out the shape which was to form the base.(wood/MDF)
2.I covered the surface area of the base with rubberized hair. (stapling it half way in to secure it from any movement)
3.Then I cut the lintafelt large enough to cover the sides too. (This will make it softer and avoid people getting pricked from the rubberized hair).
4. After I cut the Calico large enough to be stretched over the entire surface and secured at the back of the base.

5. I stapled a piece of hessian at the bottom to cover the wood.

6. I cut the cover out and designed it with the Laser cutter. (large enough to wrap itself around the whole base and be pulled neatly to the back)
7. The last step was to apply the fabric. I put the lintafelt under the top layer  and tucked it neatly to give me a nice smooth and soft finish. It was very tricky because the fabric was very stiff. I used a hammer to flatten corners.
