Visiting the V & A Museum of Childhood

This has been a long awaited visit and finally I got to go. The Museum of Childhood is a Historical Pipeline of objects from Past to present which are related to children, creativity, play, education and more. Through this experience I had the chance to understand , play and have fun too!

Some images of objects which are of interest to me and my research:

Observations:
  • Most Childrens toys and games are primary colours, I have read that Children find it easier to perceive such colours. Although I still need to research this issue.
  • Simple shapes.
  • Toys, Games & Play facilitate the learning process.
  • Materials are mainly wood and later on plastics. Wood still seems to be a preferred material for classical games.
  • Various blocks with images, type and numbers.
  • Modular construction through the years still remains popular.
